FUTURE TRACKS

MY Adventure is a social enterprise that reinvested all profits into community projects. Future Tracks is one of the projects that we deliver.

At MY Adventure we are incredibly excited about this project as it has huge potential to add extra value to the school life of young people. This project, in our opinion, is one of Scotlands leading outdoor education programmes, that delivers long term development and cross-curricular learning within a school environment.

Overview

The Future Tracks project is aimed at the demographic of young people who are not engaging fully with their timetable and/or who are starting to become involved in criminal activity and antisocial behaviour. Future Tracks runs for a complete academic year and involves two days per week contact time with young people, during school time. The young people on the future tracks programme also have the opportunity to undertake two residential experiences at our Towford Outdoor Education Centre.

The Future Tracks project focuses on engaging at risk young people; providing personal, social and skills development for participants and utilises our partners within industry to mentor young people to realise, and reach their potential. There are two cohorts of 15 young people, junior and senior groups, from Castlebrae Community High School, Leith Academy, Holyrood Secondary School, Portobello High School and Drummond Community High School. We Are very pleased to be in partnership with these school to deliver the future tracks project.

Young people will leave the Future Tracks project with greater sense-of-self, essential personal and professional experience, the guidance of a mentor and recognised qualifications that will increase their employability.
