Top picks for winter adventures in Scotland

February 4, 2019

In the colder months we get asked a lot  ‘Can we still do outdoors activities when it’s cold or raining?’

Our answer every time is, absolutely! There are so many amazing things you can do in Scotland in the great outdoors. And also, there’s no better way to warm up when the temperature drops than to get moving in the fresh air.

At My Adventure we do a huge variety of outdoor (and indoor) activities, so no matter what the weather there’s always a wintry adventure on the horizon.

We are lucky to be in Edinburgh too, with all the opportunities for world class activities our Capital provides. Along with stunning locations and facilities nearby, some off the beaten track and just a bus ride away.

So don’t miss out! We have got you covered when it comes to action-packed and memorable activities.

You get all the kit you need, transport as standard and experienced, friendly instructors to keep you safe, whatever the conditions.

All you need is a sense of adventure (and maybe some warm socks).

Our top picks for the best winter warmers:

  1. Sometimes it feels good to slow things down. Canoeing is a great choice even when it’s cold or wet. Going out on a river trip or paddling along Canals in the fresh air can be calm and relaxing. If it rains canoeing gets interesting. On the river we can even go a bit faster!
  2. There’s no better way to blow away the cobwebs. When it’s safe to go climbing outside on colder days it can be a totally unique experience. We take you to some of the finest places in Scotland. And if we are lucky to get clear, cold skies we can enjoy some breathtaking views. If it’s too windy or wet we get to have indoor climbing fun instead! Here in Edinburgh we have some of the finest climbing facilities in the world.
  3. Mountain biking is one of our favourite ways to adventure and to take in cracking scenery. We hit the trails in and around Tweed Valley, some of the best tracks in Scotland where you can really get into it, whatever level you are at.
  4. Walking in Scotland in the winter months. It’s hard to beat it for an energizing day out. We can tackle a Munro, head up into the hidden valley or along a stunning coastal route. So stick on the crampons and let’s go!
